Description:
It was a privilege for students and staff of CJM Delhi to have Mother General Sr. Monica Joseph, General Councillor, Sr. Irene Rodriguez, and Sr. Josna , Burser and Manager CJM, in their midst on 21st December 2016. They were accorded a warm welcome. A special power point presentation, "In Her Footsteps ," focused on how the students, teachers, old students, parents and sisters of CJM carried forward the message of Mother Foundress, Claudine Thevenet. The initiatives that were undertaken by the school were highlighted. These initiatives were not confined to school ,but reached out to wider society and upheld the three priorities of the 36th General Chapter of the JM Sisters. These are :
a) Incarnating Forgiveness, Reconciliation and Healing.
b) Looking on our world with the eyes of Claudine and responding to its miseries.
c) Living a life committed to Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation.
This presentation was followed by a Carol Carnival that captures the true spirit of Christmas.
In a speech that struck a chord with the young audience, Mother General, expressed her delight at the "lovely programme " and the warm welcome given to her. She stated that she owed everything to, "God, family and CJM Delhi." She held in her heart the school's motto, "To serve with love" always. She pointed out that there were branches of CJM in 29 countries of the world that were working to " make a difference " and further stated that God was our "best friend" who was " with us every day and every time. "
The programme concluded with an eloquent Christmas message delivered by Sr Shanty.
The students then assembled in their classrooms to celebrate Christmas.
