Earth Day: Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi observed Earth Day on 22nd April, 2022 by organizing an array of creative activities with the aim to motivate students to conserve resources and protect the environment. Highlighting the theme of this year, 'Invest in Our Planet', the students conducted an assembly spreading awareness about the rickety conditions of our Mother Earth, encouraging the new next generation to be sensitive and tolerant towards our planet. Students presented beautiful songs and put up a mesmerizing dance performance followed by a thought-provoking mime act.
Campaigning, ‘Phasing Out Single Use Plastic’, the students of CJM took Pledge not to use plastic and contribute towards creating a new, clean, healthy and plastic free India. Poster making activity was conducted on ‘Eco-friendly Alternatives to Plastic’ and ‘Saying No to Single Use Plastic’ by reusing eco-friendly waste material. Students performed Street Plays on ‘Harmful Effect of Plastic’ and wrote creative essays in English and Hindi on the Strategy of 6 Rs- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, Redesign and Re-manufacture.
