Description:
Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi celebrated JM Day on
13th November 2017. The day marked the completion of 175 years of
the Congregation of the Religious of Jesus and Mary in India. The day
began with Holy Eucharist by Most Reverend ArchBishop Anil J.T. Couto
of Delhi Diocese. The dance drama titled ‘Legacy of Love’ depicted the
history of the congregation which began in 1774 in France with the birth
of their foundress, St. Claudine. It traced the arduous journey and
struggles of the six pioneers of the congregation who reached Agra on
13th November in 1842. It was a proud moment for CJMites as they
celebrated the joy of being part of the family of Jesus and Mary. The
congregation is today present in 28 countries around the world and still
continuing the mission of St. Claudine, the foundress, educating the
children especially the poor.
Sr. Gracy Paul, Principal, Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi praised
and thanked the staff and the students for their committed and
dedicated service to the institution. She remarked that the spirit of
St. Claudine is still living amongst us.
