Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi organised an Inter-Catholic School Quiz, ‘Jigyasa’ on Friday, 14th October 2022.
Jigyasa epitomises the thirst to enhance knowledge, to forge bonds, to broaden horizons and to foster relationships. The thirst for knowledge is never-ending and quizzing is a way of kindling that search. This year’s MELA Quiz based on Music, Entertainment, Language and Literature, Art and Culture was no less than a carnival for anyone who is passionate about music, snacks on entertainment, takes solace in literature, and has an ever-enchanting awareness of Indian art and culture.
The event received an overwhelming response with 16 catholic schools participating in it. Each team consisted of three students from different levels across classes 6-9. The preliminary round was followed by an array of on-stage rounds, where the top 6 teams contested against each other. The Quiz mistress for the day was Ms Shreya Srikoti who has been an avid quizzer for years. The top 4 teams romped ahead in the last two rounds to outscore one another. Keeping up the school’s reputation of performing meticulously in competitions, the students of CJM put in a splendid effort and emerged as the winning team. They were felicitated with a trophy and cash prize. Being the host school, CJM passed on the Rolling Trophy to the First Runner-up team who was also awarded with a trophy along with a cash prize. The Chief Guest, Br Robert Fernandez, the Principal of St Columba's addressed the audience and congratulated the participants. It was a moment of immense pride and jubilation for the entire school
