Description:
Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi, joined schools across the country to celebrate the pleasure of reading, by participating in "One Nation Reading Together 2011", organized by scholastic India on 25th November 2011. Pupils from Classes KG to IX devoted thirty minutes (from twelve noon) in silently reading the newspaper and their story books to enhance their reading skill and concentration. Thus the silent thirty minute proved to be a period associated with productivity and fun. The senior classes took up a more ambitious project. Class X indulged in an hour of exciting group and individual activity involving designing bookcovers for a horror story or a lesson from their english reader. Class XI made book marks based on the novel "Life of Pi" which was an individual activity. The event showcased skill and creativity of the pupils in the senior school. The activity surely proved to be a celebration in reading for all the pupils as it gave them scope to think and create effectively.
